Episode 21 - Emmy

The last time I talked with Emmy was 1999, give or take. That was the year we graduated high school in Pekin, Illinois. 18 years or so later, as fate would have it, we find ourselves talking about some incredibly important things that are happening between her church in Pekin and the Muslim community in Peoria, Illinois, a city about 25 minutes from Pekin. This is perhaps the most practical, simple, and profound acts of interfaith relationship building that I have featured on this podcast. I hope that her story will inspire you to do something as simple as calling an Islamic Center or mosque near you and seeing what happens.

You can read the article I wrote about the vandalism at the Islamic Center of Peoria here.
